In July 2016 I decided to participate in the Meadow Mystery quilt run by Meadow Mist designs. This is the first time I have subscribed to quilt along or block of the month programme and I wasn’t sure if I would be able to sustain interest and motivation over the months. However quite the opposite, each month I eagerly anticipated the next set of instructions and wondered how the fabric colours I chose would look in the final layout. All of the blocks are now finished and the layout instructions will be sent in February. At this stage I am pleased with the colour choice I made.
The instructions for fabric choice were based on light, medium and dark tonal values, as well as colour. I decided to use fabrics I already had at home, but this meant I did not always have the right amount of a particular fabric so I used other fabrics on the basis that it was the right tonal range and the same colour. This can be seen with the choice of yellows and blues.
I enjoyed this mystery quilt and look forward to participating in another one in the future.
These are the finished blocks.
